*Here is a $1 Federal Reserve Note that is GEM BU as if PRINTED YESTERDAY from 1963 known as a "Barr Note" with the complete story of Joseph W. Barr
*Joseph W. Barr served as Secretary of the Treasury from ONLY December 21, 1968 to January 20, 1969. There are fewer notes bearing his facsimile signature than notes imprinted with signatures of other Secretaries of the Treasury because of his short tenure in that office.
*The signature on this note of the Secretary of the Treasury during the end of the Johnson Administration was Joseph W. Barr and the NOTES were ONLY ISSUED for a period of ONLY one (1) MONTH (ACTUALLY only 28 days)! They since have become known as BARR NOTES.
*These are probably the most famous of all $1 Federal Reserve Notes. They were issued in the final month of President Lyndon Johnson's administration. LBJ had announced he would not run for reelection in 1968 because of his unpopular handling of the Viet Nam War. Cabinet members began to bail out after Republican Richard Nixon won the election in November 1968. The Treasury needed a Secretary so LBJ appointed Joseph W. Barr who held office for 28 days.
*Folks, this is a very BEAUTIFUL GEM $1 NOTE with an outstanding presentation housed in a plastic sleeve and you will be very pleased with this purchase.
*The photo is just a SAMPLE of the Note that you will receive but, the one you receive will be in EXACTLY the same condition as the one shown except for the serial number on the Note.
